tiinker is an intelligent news aggregator that learns what users like and selects stories tailored to to each individual’s interests. Our goal is to reduce the amount of content that people must sift through to find the stories which actually interest them.
tiinker works out what users are interested in by determining what each story is about and matching this to a user’s interests. It doesn’t (just) use social recommendation. tiinker improves on applications based on centralized editing or social recommendation because it learns what each individual likes, rather than assuming that everyone has the same interests or shares interests with a broad group.
